The Lamwell team of lawyers independently represented a Ukrainian national and investor in an investment dispute against Latvia which was considered at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
We were able to continue representation in the case even after the previous counsel was deprived by the Client of the opportunity to conduct the case and our team had to prepare a submission in the case within a very limited time.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the Lamwell team of lawyers not only studied the case file and prepared the necessary documents in time, but also found new grounds for the claim as well as for an increase of the claimed amount. The damages sought by the claimant comprised approximately USD 75 million.
The Lamwell team was the investor’s sole legal adviser in this case for a year and a half. The case was subsequently terminated for financial reasons.
